Hey, I’m Sarah. My pronouns are she/her.
I’m a writer, photographer, queer feminist, bookworm, travel enthusiast, and a Canadian transplant to Berlin. I grew up in both Prince Edward Island and Montréal, and I oscillate between being starry-eyed about a buzzing, urban life and wanting to fade silently into quiet, bucolic solitude. In either case, I love to reflect on the world around me through camera and pen.
With a BA in Political Science and English Lit and an MA in International Development and Women’s Studies, I’m especially interested in mobility and immigration rights, unpacking white supremacy, as well as contemporary literature and art, especially coming from queer & BIPOC communities. I work in project management and communications for (mainly) non-profits.
I don’t believe in borders, gender binaries, or Google Maps estimated walking times. I do believe in intersectional feminism, anti-racism, solidarity, and saving abandoned houseplants from the sidewalk. I’m increasingly trying to believe in action over perfection, hence why this website is public in its current state. The writing section remains, for now, a private space.
